Richard qualified as a physiotherapist in 1997 and has a vast amount of experience treating musculoskeletal conditions and rehabilitating injuries back to the highest level of performance.
Richard has spent a lot of his career working in elite professional rugby. He was Head of Medical Services at Harlequins, where he worked from 2004 to 2013 and was also Head of Medicine at Saracens Rugby Club (2015-21).
From 2013-15 Richard was Physiotherapist to the England Mens’ Senior rugby team, during which time he toured Argentina and New Zealand, as well as working with the England team at the 2015 World Cup.
Richard was also a senior physiotherapist at Guys’ & St Thomas’ hospital, London where he worked with complex and chronic low back pain patients.
Richard completed his Masters in Sports and Exercise Medicine in 2012 undertaking and publishing research into ankle injuries. Richard has a Post Graduate certificate in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (2019) and is also trained in Acupuncture and Pilates.
Since starting the clinic, Richard has enjoyed working with a variety of patients of all ages with a range of issues, and can help you whether it is a post operative rehabilitation, a painful neck or back condition, or a peripheral problem of the knee, shoulder or ankle. He continues to work in professional sport where he has helped the England men’s and women’s Sevens team, travelled to Adelaide and Melbourne for the Australian Open tennis, helped the Australian Rowing team as well as covering several golf events.
